| Although acrylic resin has higher light transmittance
when compared to glasses and is thermoplastic resin with strong impact
strength, its surface can be easily scratched for its softness, similarly
to other plastics, when compared to glasses and also has a defect
to be sensitive to effects by organic solvents. Following cautions
are advised for handling: |
 |
 |
1)Cautions
against scratches and breakages |
|
 |
| Since acrylic resin is one of plastics with better
surface hardness, comparable hardness to aluminum, particular attention
is necessary against scratches in handling. If some sharp edges of
metal hit or scratch it, traces and optical distortion may remain
even after repairs. |
 |
 |
2)Cautions
on solvents |
|
 |
| Acrylic resin may be eroded its surface by solvents,
which may result in crazing (microcracking on surface). In particular,
toluene and aromatic hydrocarbons solvents which contain many of various
quick-drying thinners easily cause crazing, and may generate big cracks.
Since those solvents are contained in most of paints, coating agents,
adhesives and other various types of primers, special attention is
necessary so that solvents do not directly touch acrylic resin. Vapor
from those solvents may also cause crazing if acrylic resin is exposed
to it for long time. |
 |
 |
3)Cautions
against heats |
|
 |
| Since acrylic resin has chemical nature to become
deformed when heated up to more than 100℃, it should not be placed
in environment where temperature goes up to more than 80℃. Attention
should be paid against fly shuttle by welding, burning cigarette ends
and lightings during constructions, and in particular, against spotlights
during photo or video shootings. |
 |
 |
4)Cautions
on cleaning |
|
 |
| When dirt, dust or oil film is adhered to surface
of acrylic resin, it should be cleaned with soft cloths, flannel or
sponges to be lightly wiped out, using clean water. There may be some
hard substances contained in dirt and dust, it is recommendable to
brush off surface before wiping. As for persistent stain like oil
film, it is better to wipe out using lukewarm water containing mild
detergents. Please check whether or not solvents are contained in
mild detergents, as those detergents sometimes contain solvents as
their ingredients. Solvents like toluene should be strictly avoided
against persistent stains such as glue fixed by adhesive tapes, as
this may cause cracking. Rubbing with something like spatulas should
be also avoided, as this may cause scratches. Remains of glue can
be usually removed by rubbing with cloths soaked in lukewarm water,
but when they are firmly fixed, they can be lightly wiped out from
surface with plastic cleaners applied to soft cloths. |
 |
 |
 |
| Acrylic resin is easily cleaned by
wiping out with soft cloths, after "Poly Care S",
antistatic cleaner for plastics, is sprayed on its surface. |
 |
| 1)Poly Care
S |
 |
| Poly Care S is a spray-on cleaner
which has significant effects for cleaning, polishing
and preventing electrostatic charge of plastic products.
It can be applied to acrylic resin, ABS resin, styrene
resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, polypropylene and other
resins. |
 |
| 2)Directions
for using Poly Care S |
 |
1) Use after shaking well
2) Turn the arrow mark on push button toward applying
surface, and spray evenly 15~30cm above surface.
3) Leave it for about 1 minute after spraying, and lightly
wipe out foams with soft cloths.
4) Small articles and sophisticated parts should be wiped
with cloths soaked with Poly Care S.
5) Area of about 50u can be sprayed with one can. |
|
|
|
 |
| 3)Handling of Poly Care
S |
 |
Although Poly Care S does not contain any hazardous
substances such as alcohol and thinner, please note following points,
as LPG is used as propellant:
1) Do not spray toward flame.
2) Do not use heavily indoors where there is fire.
3) Do not store in places where temperature is higher than 40℃.
4) Do not throw away empty cans into fire. |
 |
| 4)Form (package) of Poly
Care S |
 |
| Container |
Spray can with 220cc content |
| Weight |
Approx. 275g (including container) |
| Carton pack |
20 cans |
| Inner pressure |
0.3~0.4 MPa (Initial pressure at 25℃) |
|
 |
| 5)Poly Care L (Sister product) |
 |
| Poly Care S has a sister product named Poly Care
L, which has exactly the same effects as Poly Care S for cleaning
and preventing electrostatic charge. Both products may be applied
depending on usages. |
 |
| Content |
15kg/can (Net) |
| Package |
5-gallon can |
| Applying area |
1 can for the area of 4,500~5,000u, as cleaning and polishing
can be made with application of about 3~5g per 1u.
|
| Usage |
Wipe out with soft and dry cloths for finishing, after thinly spreading Poly Care L with soft cloths on surface of plastics, or after spraying toward surface. |
